David Birchall started playing the guitar in 1994 and has continued to ever since, gigging and touring extensively with a variety of groups in the UK, France, Holland, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Palestine and Denmark.
Music he has been involved with creating has been played on BBC1, BBC Radio1, BBC 6 Music and Resonance FM.
Realising a few years ago he spent most of his time trying to improvise within the musics he played whether structured or open, he has since consciously tried to locate improvisation at the core of his musical work.
He has composed music for performances with dancers and performance artists at the Lowry Theatre in Salford, the Greenroom in Manchester and the Arnolfini Gallery in Bristol.

hello Dave
I was pointed in your direction by Olie Brice, who I have the pleasure of occasionally playing with in London. I am writing because I am working in Manchester between the 8th of Feb and the 21st of March and I am looking for people to play with and places to listen to improvised music. I wondered if you might be able to help. I play cello.
best wishes & Happy new year!
Hannah
Hi Dave
have linked you on my wordpress

Most impressed with the wordpress pages. The improvised music/light show sounds like early live Pink Floyd, Hyde Park Reading Uni, Bristol Colston hall and Bath festival 1967-1969. I remember you playing the guitar before 1995 (mine!!) You bought your own not long after that.
The music should be used for film/TV I suggest you e-mail BBC soon asyou get a chance.

PS Thanks for the Link
